Building on the success of Todd Selby’s previous books, we designed his third, named Fashionable Selby. The book documents the lives and studio processes of a wide range of fashion designers and industry insiders such as Isabel Marant, Dries van Noten, Nicola Formichetti, Carla Sozzani of Corso Como, and even the window designers at Louis Vuitton.
Much like previous Selby books, the design focused on replicating his distinct diaristic approach, featuring hand-drawn illustration and handwritten captions to breathe life into a two-year study of the world’s most intriguing fashion designers. To help make the book experience even more intimate, we worked with Selby to create a bespoke collection of paper dolls with interchangeable clothes inspired by the people he met along the way.
The book became a best-seller and received positive reviews from Paper Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and the Wall Street Journal, continuing to establish Todd Selby as the world’s premier creative documentarian of people’s spaces, practices and process.
